For Audrey Swatch & Review

I think it's time to introduce you to one of my favourite polishes of all time! It was my first ever China Glaze polish purchased, and not once have I ever regretted buying it. I have fair skin and find bright colours to be very overpowering so this teal/turquoise colour was a fantastic compromise with my skin tone! A beautiful colour that can be pin-pointed to Tiffany's signature blue of the box and the "For Audrey" name came from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's where this was dedicated to Audrey Hepburn, the leading character.

"For Audrey - China Glaze"
Although my fingers look a bit red in the picture, I can surely say this is one of my fave polishes in my collection (I'm not saying my collection is large, compared to others haha). Some may say it's green while others say it's blue, to me it's a perfect mix that looks great as an accent piece to any outfit. If wearing all neutral colours, this gives a vibrant yet sophisticated look.

The overall application was great, my bottle is getting old so I think I may need some thinner *yikes*. All photos were done with two layers of colour, Essie's all-in-one base, and Seche Vite's fast-dry top coat. I'll have to re-apply the top coat soon since I'm finding some pealing at the back of nails (not good!). As my polish is getting older - or maybe it goes for others as well - it's pretty thick. You could almost even get away with one coat!

You can see in different lights it can be interpreted as another colour but it's all the same to me! I recommend this colour since it started my whole obsession with China Glaze and it's a MUST HAVE for any collection !

Happy polishing,
Mandie xo

TOTD

The best nail shape is "squoval" (not square, not oval) and copies the natural shape of your nail bed. Oval shapes elongate the nail, and square shapes shorten the nail!

Light & Simple Manicure - ft. Konad

Hey Sweets

So I introduce to you my very first mani post on this blog! *cheers*laughter*clapping*
It's pretty girly I have to admit.... but I like it. I received Pirouette my Whistle from OPI for Christmas and I was dying to use it. Lucky Lucky Lavender I've had for a while now but I feel as if I've been neglecting certain polishes, therefore making myself use this to compensate (silly I know).

The materials:

Optional: I used these materials on my ring finger as an accent (i like it better, don't you?) but I realize the pink beads aren't readily available... and the striper can be expensive *sadface*

Overall, I liked this mani because it was light, simple, and went well with my skin tone. Usually in winter we tend to go towards the darker shades so I wanted to freshen things up. As you'll see, I kind of messed up the Konad part (my bad) and the beaded accents didn't go so well (I blame it on the top coat.... I really do!!) so overall this is meh. I loved Lucky & Pirouette together, I think they looked elegant and could easily be pulled off if going to work (I'm a student so I wouldn't know haha). The bow fron plate m56 adds a feminine touch and I added the beads to act as mini rhinestones. Do you think they suit well?

I had fun creating this nail design (although very simple). You'll see the steps I went through above ^ where I did a coat of Essie's all-in-one base, one coat of Lucky Lucky Lavender, a coat of Pirouette My Whistle (adding in the white stripes with the striper here), stamping Konad plate m56 with the bow image, taking a toothpick and lightly attaching the beads, and sealing it with a Seche Vite Top Coat to top it off! (I used the Konad top coat on my index finger and you'll see it turned the pink beads to mush basically. I didn't like how it turned out and will not be using a Konad top coat with those beads again).

Hope you like it, please comment and let me know any suggestions!
Happy polishing,
Amanda xo

Hey guys!

As a young artist, I enjoy playing with colours and patterns, especially on my nails. This blog will include many nail art designs that will all be featured on my natural nails. I've been experimenting with nail art for a while now and have discovered it to be a hobby - something my parent's aren't quite happy with (with all the spending this hobby comes with haha).

Other than that, I will be posting soon (I'm working on a mani tonight) and I've also created twitter, tumblr, and youtube accounts which will tie into the posts on this blog. Can't wait to show you my designs!

Any questions or suggestions, email me at polishaddictions@gmail.com
